According to Warriors beat writer Anthony Slater, sources indicate that discussions between Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have essentially reached a stalemate.
It is understood that Thompson is no longer considering the Warriors’ offer, despite there being ample time left in the negotiation window. There has been no substantial dialogue between the Warriors, Thompson, and his representatives.
The negotiations are effectively at a standstill, and with less than 10 days remaining until free agency, Thompson’s chances of leaving the Warriors are higher than ever before.
As previously reported, the Warriors had hoped Thompson would take a pay cut for a shorter deal, a proposition he rejected due to Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins both having four-year contracts.
