On June 21, it was revealed that the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to withdraw from the pursuit of Paul George.
Renowned sports journalist Shams recently tweeted, “Sources tell me that the Philadelphia 76ers’ interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly cooled in recent days. Ahead of next week’s NBA Draft, the team is now expected to be aggressive with its salary cap space and draft picks in exploring alternative avenues.”
According to fellow sports reporter Brian Windhorst, George remains in a stalemate with the Los Angeles Clippers. He commented, “Paul George has other options as a free agent… He certainly has offers from other teams, but for now, he remains a free agent… Why haven’t the Clippers made such an offer?… He’s making them understand that he can walk away for nothing.”
The Clippers’ stance, however, seems to be one of waiting, as they have not yet shown a definitive reaction to the market involving Paul George, which is a point of intrigue.
