On July 3, former NBA All-Star guard Kemba Walker officially announced his retirement, closing the book on his 13-year professional career.
Walker, who hailed from the University of Connecticut, won the NCAA Championship and was named the Most Outstanding Player (MOP) in 2011. He was then drafted ninth overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the same year. Throughout his career, he played for the Hornets, Celtics, Knicks, and Mavericks.
Over the course of 750 regular-season games, Walker averaged 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in 33.1 minutes per game. In the playoffs, he appeared in 31 contests, logging 36.5 minutes per game and contributing 19.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals.
Walker was a four-time NBA All-Star (once as a starter), earned a spot on the Third Team All-NBA in 2019, and twice received the NBA Sportsmanship Award.
