On June 26th, ESPN reported that the previous day’s game between the Sky at home and the Fever averaged 2.3 million viewers, peaking at 3.3 million, marking the highest-rated WNBA game in 23 years (previously held by the 2001 Los Angeles Sparks vs. Houston Comets game with 2.44 million viewers).

The match was also the most expensive WNBA game on average ticket price since 2015, with an average of $358, surpassing even the Chicago Bulls’ NBA average ticket price from last season.

With 2.3 million viewers, it surpassed the second game of the Fever-Sky series the previous week, which had set the season high with 2.25 million viewers. Additionally, the Fever-Sun opener’s 2.12 million viewers also set a record. This season, games featuring the Fever have now broken the highest ratings mark in the past 23 years three times.
