On June 26, Xinjiang Canjiu Basketball Club officially announced that Qiu Biao is stepping down as head coach due to family and personal planning considerations.

Coach Qiu Biao, due to family matters and personal development plans, has requested not to continue in his role as head coach. The club respects Coach Qiu’s wishes and has accepted his resignation.

Coach Qiu Biao took on the position of head coach in November 2022. During this time, he dedicated tremendous effort and energy, enhancing team cohesion and combat effectiveness, leading to a positive chemical reaction and spirit within the team. The club, from its management to the coaching staff, athletes, and staff, has developed a deep friendship with Coach Qiu, leaving a favorable impression among fans.

Xinjiang Guanghui Basketball Club has always been committed to nurturing talent for Chinese basketball and providing opportunities for young coaches. In the 2023-2024 season, which was Coach Qiu’s first full season in charge, he led the team to a runner-up finish and was named Best Coach.
