On June 27th, insider Wojnarowski reported that the Knicks and OG Anunoby have agreed to a five-year, $212.5 million deal. The contract is said to include a player option and a no-trade clause.
According to Knicks journalist Ian Begley, the framework for the signing was in place before the Knicks’ big trade with the Nets. Anunoby had received max offers from other teams but favored the Knicks.
In the 23-24 season, after being traded from the Raptors, Anunoby played 23 regular-season games for the Knicks, averaging 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 block per game.
During the playoffs, Anunoby appeared in 9 games for the Knicks, contributing 15.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.0 block on average.
