July 1 update: Amid news of LeBron James’ new contract, the Lakers continue to explore significant trades to improve their roster.
According to renowned sports journalist Jake Fischer, four players currently being dangled by the Lakers are Russell, Hachimura, Vanderbilt, and Vincent.
In his report, Fischer writes, “Sources indicate that the Lakers have also been shopping deals involving Russell, Hachimura, Vanderbilt, and Gabby Vincent. Lopez has remained a target for the Lakers.”
Russell averaged 18 points and 6.3 rebounds last season and appears to be the most valuable trade piece among them, albeit with occasional inconsistency. He could still provide significant value for another team.
Hachimura averaged 13.6 points and 4.3 rebounds last season and has established himself as a reliable starter.
Vanderbilt and Vincent might not generate as much interest in the trade market, with averages of 5.2 and 3.1 points, respectively, but they could serve as dependable bench contributors for many teams.
Lopez, who put up 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season with a 36.6% three-point shooting percentage, could help stretch the floor for the Lakers offensively.
