Today, Anhui Wenyi Men’s Basketball officially announced a coaching change.

In order to better compete in the 2024 NBL league and achieve our season goals, after careful deliberation, Cheng Wu, Chairman and General Manager of Anhui Wenyi Basketball Club, will no longer serve as head coach of the Anhui Wenyi men’s basketball team. He will instead take on the role of Head of the Coaching Advisory Group. Assistant Coach Li Jun will assume the position of head coach for Anhui Wenyi Men’s Basketball.
During his playing career, Li Jun served as the starting point guard for Anhui Wenyi since the team’s inception, helping them secure the 2016 NBL championship title. After retiring, Li Jun successively took on roles as head coach of the Anhui Wenyi youth team and assistant coach of the senior team. In the 2022 season, Li Jun, who was called upon in a time of need, served as acting head coach for Anhui Wenyi, receiving widespread praise for his on-court leadership.
We are confident that under the guidance of Coach Cheng and Coach Li, with the united efforts and teamwork of all players, Anhui Wenyi will continue to forge ahead with courage and determination.
