According to ESPN’s Woj, the Detroit Pistons have agreed to a five-year, $224 million rookie extension with Cade Cunningham. If the Rose criteria are met, the total value of the contract could reach up to $269 million. This contract will take effect in the 2025-26 season.
Cunningham was selected first overall by the Pistons in the 2021 draft. Last season, he appeared in 74 games for the team, averaging 22.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.
He will become the second player from the 2021 draft class to sign a maximum contract extension, following Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic.
