Former Lakers Player: Bronny James Never Felt Financial Strain, So He Won't Pursue Money Through Being a Great Athlete

As previously reported, Bronny James, the son of LeBron James and a second-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers, signed a four-year, $7.9 million rookie contract with the Lakers, with two years guaranteed.

Former Lakers player, Kmetic Washington, commented on this situation:

“Bronny reminds me of Gary Payton’s son. He works hard and is a competitive athlete. But people often say that LeBron’s son makes a lot of money, and indeed, he never felt financial strain—he doesn’t know what it feels like to be short on money. Therefore, he doesn’t intend to earn money through becoming an outstanding athlete to help his family.”
