With the transfer of Chen Yingjun to Beijing Men’s Basketball settled, Chen updated his social media to bid farewell and express gratitude to Guangzhou Men’s Basketball.

“One day in 2017 in the library, I was sitting quietly looking out the window, contemplating my next steps after graduation. At that time, I had experienced many setbacks and a lot of self-doubt. During that summer, I decided to reset my mindset and continue working hard to improve myself.”

“After graduation, I decided to enter the CBA draft. After experiencing the Jones Cup and the Universiade, it was a summer that could be considered a turning point in my life, and I was also chosen by the Guangzhou Loong Lions to join the CBA. I played for seven seasons, during which I went through many ups and downs, facing numerous unfair doubts, injury slumps, or consecutive setbacks with the team. However, I never forgot my goal and the voice within me, and continued to uphold my belief, moving forward without being affected by negative energy. Of course, at the same time, I received a lot of warmth, care, and confidence from all sides, especially from the team and relevant personnel of the Loong Lions club, which was one of the greatest motivations for me to continue, because I knew that no matter what happened, they would always be my strongest support, as they were the ones who understood me the most, and that was enough.”

“Seven years have passed in the blink of an eye, and I have countless words to say, filled with gratitude. I am honored and lucky to have joined the Loong Lions Basketball Club back then. Over these years, with your care and recognition, I received countless blessings in the first seven years of my career, both on and off the court. Together with you, we fought and worked hard to create many of the best records in the team’s history, from the bottom to the team’s best eighth place and even into the ranks of playoff competition. The efforts and sacrifices of everyone in this process speak for themselves.”

“Now I am officially leaving this home of seven years and heading towards a new journey. There is certainly a lot of reluctance and some regret. But I think it’s precisely because of these imperfections and unfinished dreams that make this journey more meaningful and valuable.”
