Today, Liaoning Men’s Basketball updated their official social media, announcing the addition of Wang Lanqin to the team.
The original announcement reads as follows:
After friendly negotiations between Liaoning Shenyang SanSheng Feibao Basketball Club, Guangzhou Longshi Club, and Nanjing Tongxi Basketball Club, a three-party trade has been finalized. Nanjing Tongxi Club player Wang Lanqin is loaned to Liaoning Shenyang SanSheng Feibao Basketball Club for a period of three years.
Wang Lanqin, born in 1998 in Weifang, Shandong, stands at 185 cm tall and weighs 80 kg. He plays as a guard on the court. From 2020 to 2022, he represented Tsinghua University and won the CUBA championship three consecutive times, earning him the CUBA Finals MVP title in 2021.
In the 2022 CBA Draft, Wang Lanqin was selected first overall by Nanjing Tongxi Basketball Club in the first round, making him that year’s CBA top pick. In his first CBA season, Wang Lanqin averaged 33.5 minutes per game, scoring 13.3 points, grabbing 4.3 rebounds, dishing out 5.5 assists, and making 1.6 steals; last season, his averages were: 35.8 minutes played, 15.1 points scored, 4.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
