On September 29, according to Shams, the Indiana Pacers have signed former third overall pick Jahlil Okafor to a training camp contract.
The 28-year-old Okafor was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the third overall pick in the 2015 draft. He has played for the 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Detroit Pistons in the NBA. He played for the CBA’s Guangxia team during the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons.
His last appearance in the NBA was in 2021.
In his previous NBA career, Okafor averaged 10.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 19.5 minutes per game.
