According to Shams, Cameroonian player Koloko, who previously played for the Raptors, is set to return to the NBA, and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently the most likely team to sign him.
Shams tweeted, “Sources tell The Athletic that Cameroonian center Koloko, standing at 213 cm tall, is set to return to the NBA, with the Los Angeles Lakers currently leading the race. Additionally, teams such as the Raptors, Clippers, and Spurs are also in contention. Koloko is awaiting clearance from the NBA’s physical panel, but he is eligible to sign with a team now.”
The 24-year-old Koloko was selected by the Raptors with the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2022 draft. However, on January 17th of this year, he was waived by the Raptors, and the next day, he was marked as un-signable by the NBA due to thrombosis issues.
According to Lakers beat reporter Dan Walker, since the Lakers’ roster is still full, if the team really wants to sign Koloko, they can only offer an Exhibit-10 contract or make a trade involving cash or draft picks.
