Famous Reporter Reveals Wj's Retirement Reason: Hardly Any Days Off, Only Three Hours of Sleep per Night During Trade Season

As previously reported, renowned American basketball journalist Adrian Wojnarowski announced his retirement from ESPN and the news industry, bringing an end to a journalism career spanning three decades.

According to a joint report by The Athletic journalists Andrew Marchand, Richard Deitsch, C.J. Moore, and Alex Andrejev, multiple sources revealed that Woj had a conversation with ESPN owner Pitaro and ESPN’s content president Burke Magnus on Wednesday morning. They were surprised by Woj’s decision to retire from the news industry.

Woj told ESPN’s bosses that he was completely exhausted by the relentless news reporting, which required him to be on call almost 24 hours a day. As the new NBA season approached, the thought of getting only three hours of sleep each night to stay updated with the latest trades and information made him feel uncomfortable.

Woj originally thought he could continue for one more season, but the work at his alma mater excited him in a way that breaking news reporting no longer could.
