Former Rockets Head Coach Silas to Serve as Head Coach for USA Basketball During FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying Windows

On October 3, USA Basketball officially announced that former Rockets head coach Silas will serve as the head coach for the USA Men’s National Team during the FIBA AmeriCup qualifying windows.

The two qualifying windows are scheduled for: November 2025 and February 2026.

Silas became the head coach of the Rockets in 2020 and coached the team for three years. He subsequently joined the Pistons as chief assistant coach to Monty.

It is reported that his assistants will be two-time Olympic gold medalist Ewing and veteran coach Keith Smart.
