On September 22, legendary Suns announcer Al McCoy passed away at the age of 91.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement:
Al McCoy was a master of broadcasting. As the longest-tenured play-by-play announcer in NBA history, he called games for the Phoenix Suns for 51 seasons and set a high standard. His unique style and endless passion for the game brought joy to generations of fans, and he was a dear friend to many in the NBA community. I extend my deepest condolences to Al’s family and friends, as well as the entire Suns organization.
