Recently, former two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s uncle and ex-trainer Peter Fury told the media that the IBF heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) still has elements of surprise, despite more people favoring Joshua.
Peter Fury said, “I believe Anthony Joshua’s experience is too much for Dubois, and he also has a speed advantage. That’s why I’m leaning towards Joshua. However, Joshua isn’t guaranteed a 100% win over Dubois. I think Dubois is also a power puncher, so it will come down to who lands their heavy shots first. This is a heavyweight fight, and upsets can happen. We’ll just have to wait and see. I wasn’t surprised by Dubois’ result against Filip Hrgović (17-1, 14 KOs), as he had performed well against Jarrell Miller (26-1-1, 22 KOs) previously. Dubois did well in that bout, and I hope these victories boost his confidence. I believe he’s gained a lot of confidence now. We haven’t seen what an overly confident Dubois looks like, so we’ll see on fight night.”
Joshua is currently favored at 1-4 odds. While Dubois possesses power, he is relatively slow and not the most durable, with Joshua’s punches being devastating.
