Recently, former WBC Interim Heavyweight Champion Brit Dillian Whyte (30-3, 20 KO) spoke to the media about the December 21 rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KO) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO). Whyte believes that while Tyson Fury has a chance for revenge, it will be tough.
Dillian Whyte said: “This is a heavyweight fight, anything can happen, Tyson Fury still has hope. But perhaps some of the tough battles he’s had may have had a negative impact on Tyson Fury, we don’t know for sure. Tyson Fury is human, he’s been in several grueling fights, been knocked down multiple times, which may have taken a toll on his body. Or maybe Tyson Fury doesn’t have the motivation to keep fighting. If Tyson Fury trains hard, he has a chance at revenge. But now Oleksandr Usyk is brimming with confidence, previously he thought he could only win against Tyson Fury by outpointing him, now he knows he can hurt Tyson Fury. So Tyson Fury’s rematch is tougher than the first fight.”
Currently, Usyk is favored with odds of 1-2. In the first fight, Tyson Fury performed well in rounds 3-7, his hit-and-move tactics once gave Usyk a lot of trouble, however, from round 8 onwards, Usyk adjusted his approach, Tyson Fury also had some stamina issues, and the situation was turned around by Usyk.
