According to recent media reports, current WBC/WBA Super/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) is set to join forces with Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson in the film “Crushers.” The movie is expected to be released in 2025, with Johnson portraying former UFC champion Mark Cole, while Usyk will take on the role of Ukrainian mixed martial arts legend Igor Volkov in a rivalry within the film.
Said Dwayne Johnson, “Don’t really break my jaw, I’m thrilled that unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk is joining our movie ‘Crushers.’ I have great respect for Usyk, and next week we’ll go toe-to-toe, where he’ll ‘crush’ my jaw on screen.”
The 37-year-old Usyk boasts an undefeated professional record of 22 wins, with 14 of those victories coming by way of KO. He is currently ranked number one in the BOXREC heavyweight rankings. Usyk is set to face Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) in a highly anticipated rematch on December 21, where he stands to earn 60% of the $1.9 billion purse, amounting to $1.14 billion.
