Former European heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (35-13, 23 KOs) recently told the media that he predicts Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will perform even better in their December 21 rematch against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) than he did in their first encounter.
Said Chisora: “Tyson Fury needs to get back to his younger self, the hungry version of him. The current Tyson Fury is too soft. I believe Usyk will be more dominant in the second fight – let’s wait and see.”
Usyk controversially won their first bout on May 18 with scorecards of 115-112, 114-113, and 113-114, although fan scores on BoxRec had it 116-111, with the judges seemingly giving Fury some leeway.
Fury was paid $105 million for the first fight, while Usyk received $45 million. For the rematch, Usyk’s purse is $114 million, and Fury’s is $76 million.
