The annual fighting game extravaganza, EVO 2024, concluded its registration earlier this week. The event organizers have announced that this year’s edition, set to take place in Las Vegas, will not only be the biggest in EVO’s history but also the largest tournament ever held in the esports domain.
According to official figures, 10,224 players from 63 countries have signed up to participate in at least one of EVO’s eight main events.
This year’s venue has shifted, moving away from the Mandalay Bay Convention Center Arena and into the Las Vegas Convention Center.
EVO 2024 will also mark the biggest tournaments for Tekken 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and the retro series Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Other major competitions include Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, Guilty Gear, King of Fighters 15, and Nightborne 2 Sys:Celes.
Among the thousands of players, over 7,000 are registered solely for Street Fighter 6. This year’s EVO is expected to feature numerous fighting game announcements, including new DLC content confirmed for King of Fighters 15.
EVO 2024 will run from July 19th to 21st, local time.
