Yinzhou Welcomes You, Glorifying Youth! The Second Ningbo-Taiwan Young E-sports Friendship Match Ignites Ningbo

“Welcome to Glory of Kings!” With the familiar opening words echoing, on July 13th, the “Yinzhou Welcomes You, Glorifying Youth” – the second Ningbo-Taiwan Young E-sports Friendship Match officially kicked off. The event attracted a total of 8 teams from the mainland and Taiwan, they came from all walks of life, ranging from young entrepreneurs to college students, gathered together to unleash their passion and jointly embarked on this unforgettable e-sports journey.

“Full army attack!” “Assemble, prepare for team battle!” Five players from each team fought shoulder to shoulder, focused eyes, high morale. The audience marveled at the brilliant maneuvers, as if they were right in the “battlefield,” everyone on-site experienced the heartbeat and excitement in the “valley.” Li Yuan from Taipei Municipal University of Education said, “I’ve been playing this game for quite some time, but it’s my first time coming to Yinzhou, Ningbo for a competition. Everyone is very enthusiastic, the atmosphere on site is also fantastic, I’m looking forward to the rest of the matches.”

E-sports was officially listed as the country’s 99th sport in 2003, it is a stage for young people in Ningbo and Taiwan to chase dreams and show their true selves, and also the most prominent new-generation digital economy of the current era. This event adopted the 5v5 team match of Glory of Kings, BO3 single elimination system, with teams battling each other. Li Zhonghao, President of the Ningbo Electronic Sports Association, introduced that there was a significant increase in the number of participants and invited cities for this competition. He hopes to make contributions in promoting cross-strait exchanges, attracting Taiwanese youth talents to settle down, and promoting economic development.

In the finals, the Yinzhou Youth Team and the Ningbo Poseidon Team competed for the championship. On the field, the players were evenly matched, various fancy maneuvers, extreme counter-kills, the excitement was not inferior to professional players. The on-site commentator’s passionate commentary and the cheers from the online live broadcast further ignited the climax of the match again and again, adding to the festive atmosphere. At 7:32 PM on the 13th, the Yinzhou Youth Team from Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology successfully won the championship trophy with their well-coordinated teamwork and solid individual skills, also receiving cheers and blessings from other Taiwanese youth teams. Team leader Liu Bo expressed that he was very happy to have won the championship and learned a lot from other Taiwanese youth teammates, hoping for an opportunity to reunite in the future.

At the competition venue, the organizer also prepared a birthday surprise for five Taiwanese compatriots born in July. When the big screen sequentially showed five smiling faces, and the host led everyone to sing “Happy Birthday,” the atmosphere on site instantly became warm, “The organizers celebrating the birthdays of the birthday stars made us feel very moved and warm, as if we were family,” said Taiwanese youth Li Yuan.

During the competition breaks, the young people from Ningbo and Taiwan also experienced the Ningbo Museum, visited the digital workshops of Ningbo Essence Electronics Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Supu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., participated in the “Taiwanese Youth’s Eyes on Yinzhou” activity organized by the “Taiwanese Youth Home” Senator Studio. They personally experienced the vitality of Yinzhou’s high-quality development. “This activity is rich in content and diverse in form, participating in the e-sports competition, going live on the internet, tasting the cuisine of Yinzhou, feeling the charm of Yinzhou, I will definitely come back if there’s a chance!” said Gu Chunyin from Chung Cheng University in Taiwan Province.

Gu Haifei, Vice President of the Ningbo Association of Compatriots and Relatives of Taiwan, the event organizer, stated that e-sports embodies the spirit of striving and unity, it has become a new carrier for cross-strait cultural exchange. He hopes that young people on both sides of the strait will take this activity as an opportunity to jointly write a splendid chapter belonging to the young people of the new era, contributing to the construction of Digital China.
