BLAST Breakdown: Which Newcomer Will Shine in the Second Half of 2024?

So far in 2024, we’ve seen the rise of donk and m0NESY’s ascension to the ranks of the world’s best players.

These two incredible youngsters have almost defined this era, but who will join them? The official commentators, analysts, and hosts of BLAST Premier have made their predictions on which young talents will emerge and shine in the second half of 2024. Let’s take a look.

The results from the analyst team are as follows:

Anders: malbsMd

It’s hard to define who a “newcomer” is, but I’m putting my vote behind malbsMd. He’s been on my radar for some time, and it’s great to see him making waves.

Pimp: malbsMd

I am super excited about malbsMd joining G2. He’s like a rough diamond now reaching new heights in CS. Additionally, he might need to switch roles quite a lot to fit into G2, which is a considerable pressure.

There’s no doubt that individually he’s a great player, but there’s still a lot to be done to become a top player. I’d love to see if he can do that, and I’m betting he can.

Whether he will be a superstar or just play a good role, I’m not sure, but I bet he will be one of the core members of G2.

Tech Girl: br0, w0nderful

I won’t be definitive about who will shine in the second half, but I think there are a couple of players who, given space to play their role, really have a chance to make an impact in the second half.

He’s not a superstar nor a player that gets much attention, but I think br0 is the most wonderful addition to Astralis, showing true dedication to his role. He’s had months to adapt, and if the other pieces of the Astralis puzzle fall into place, I believe br0 could be key to ensuring the team’s success.

Similarly, if Natus Vincere can find their winning ways again in the second half, we might see w0nderful gain more confidence on the AWP.

malbsMd is playing alongside two of the best players in the world and should, on paper, shine. However, I think fans of the Guatemalan player might be disappointed.

launders: m0NESY

m0NESY was the best player in the first half, and I’m betting he’ll be the best again, provided G2 can advance further in tournaments.

Maniac: donk

Unless G2’s risk-taking pays off or ZywOo leads Vitality to meaningful titles, donk will likely be vying for his first HLTV Player of the Year award. As long as Spirit maintains its momentum at the elite level, donk will be leading the pack in the new CS version.
