The opening match will kick off on April 23rd.
Today, ESL has revealed the schedule for EPL Season 19. Unlike previous EPL events, this edition’s schedule is more compact, reduced from five weeks to three. Group A and Group B matches will run concurrently from April 23-28, with both streams being broadcast live.
The first four opening matches of Group A and the initial two opening matches of Group B will take place on the first day of competition, with the remaining Group B openers scheduled for the second day.
The group stage draw is as follows:
As C9’s replacement, SAW will face off against 3DMAX in their opening match. However, the spotlight in Group A’s opener will be on Astralis versus Eternal Fire, with both teams eager to make their mark in top-tier CS competition.
FAZE, currently leading the Intel Grand Slam race, is another team to watch in Group A. While they only need two more victories across seven events to secure the Grand Slam, winning EPL would significantly boost their chances.
In Group B, the clash between Falcons and TheMongolz, following the addition of Peter Rasmussen | dupreeh, promises excitement. TheMongolz, known for their strong performances against European powerhouses, will also be a force to reckon with. Meanwhile, Chinese team TYLOO will open against G2.
The match between Liquid and FURIA in Group C is highly anticipated, especially after FURIA’s roster changes. The performance of FURIA in the post-arT era could become clearer through this encounter.
Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) versus HEROIC in Group D is another intriguing contest. NIP, after significant roster alterations, has been competing mainly in online events, and this will be a test of their new lineup in offline competition. Although there might be a gap in raw strength, witnessing NIP’s new formation is an exciting prospect.
