According to data from the Hessian police in Germany, prior to and following the match between England and Denmark, law enforcement had already dealt with 56 criminal incidents related to the event.
In the second round of the European Cup C group encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw, both teams displayed a competitive balance on the pitch, with neither side completely dominating. However, off the field, the fan atmosphere was vastly different. By midday before the game, approximately 2,000 English fans had taken over a square, followed by a subsequent arrival of 4,000 Danish supporters, causing chaos in Frankfurt’s city center.
On the reported day, around 10,000 Danish and 50,000 English fans flooded into Frankfurt, with about 10,000 of those English fans holding tickets. In preparation for the event, authorities in Hesse deployed roughly 2,500 officers. As of Thursday morning, the provisional report tallied 56 crimes linked to the match, including theft, minor physical assaults, property damage, insults, firework-related offenses, resistance to law enforcement, violations of regulations, and illegal possession of firearms.
