On June 19, the Brazilian national team concluded their preparations in Orlando, USA, and flew to Los Angeles to gear up for their first Copa América match against Costa Rica on June 24.
Since May 30, the Brazilian squad has been training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando for the Copa América. Under the guidance of Coach Dourival, the team completed 15 training sessions, with Orlando designated as the base camp by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) for the tournament.
Before embarking for Los Angeles, the coaching staff held a brief team meeting to review preparations and provide players with all the details about the Copa América. The session was led by the Men’s National Team Technical Director, Ciro Souza.
Team Coordinator Rodrigo Caetano addressed the group, saying, “The decision to establish our base in Orlando was unanimous, and we are grateful to CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues for fulfilling all our requirements. We came here to acclimate faster to the competition, and that goal was achieved without any injuries during the preparation, which is exceptional. All departments collaborated seamlessly, from psychological support to crucial team meetings, ensuring the success of our preparations.”
Caetano added, “Our primary objective was to initiate this preparation project, focusing on the short term with the Copa América but also looking ahead to the mid-term, the 2026 World Cup. We won’t have such an extended period to prepare again until then, so we aim to solidify our foundation, not only for the qualifiers but also for the 2026 World Cup.”
On June 24, Brazil will face Costa Rica in Inglewood, part of the Greater Los Angeles area. Caetano expressed, “I wish to carry the support of the entire Brazilian population in our luggage now.”
