On June 29, according to renowned journalist Di Marzio, former Manchester United center-back Raphael Varane has landed in Italy to initiate transfer talks.
As per Di Marzio’s report, Serie A newcomers Como were the first to approach Varane and have shown the most genuine interest. The French defender will hold discussions with Como’s top officials alongside his agent to decide his future.
It’s worth mentioning that Como is not the only club vying for Varane’s signature; he is also on Roma’s radar. It is understood that Varane will stay in Italy for a few days, with Roma expected to make contact with the French central defender in the coming days.
Last season, Varane made 32 appearances for Manchester United, starting 25 times, scoring one goal. He had a decent defensive campaign and started the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup final, helping United defeat Manchester City to lift the trophy.
