Mundo Deportivo: Paris Saint-Germain offers €250m for Yamar, but Barcelona says no to any price

The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo leads its front page with a story about Paris Saint-Germain’s interest and massive bid for Yamar.

Despite being only 16, Yamar has demonstrated his potential as a rising star in European football, impressing in his first season with Barcelona’s first team and earning a call-up to the Spanish national team for the Euros. As such, he is considered untouchable by Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club has been informed that PSG is willing to pay €250m for Yamar, but there is no chance of negotiations, and the player will not be sold under any circumstances.

Last March, Barcelona President Joan Laporta revealed that the club had rejected a €200m offer for Yamar. The newspaper now reports that the bidding club was indeed PSG, which has now raised its offer by €50m to €250m. Paris sees Yamar as the ideal successor to Kylian Mbappé following his departure.

In 2017, PSG famously activated Neymar’s release clause to sign him from Barcelona for a then-world-record fee of €220m. Now, they aim to break the record again with a mammoth offer for Yamar. Aware of PSG’s interest, Barcelona has taken steps to secure Yamar’s future. Last year, they extended his contract until 2026, with a buyout clause set at €1bn. Once Yamar turns 18 in 2026, his contract will automatically renew for an additional five years until 2031. Barcelona’s stance is clear: Yamar is not for sale.
