Belgium Manager Blamed by Fans: He’s the Culprit for the Team’s Exit

Belgium Manager Blamed by Fans: He's the Culprit for the Team's ExitAfter Belgium was eliminated by France in the round of 16 of the European Championship, Belgian fans flooded social media to criticize their manager, Tedesco, holding him responsible for the team’s exit and calling for his immediate dismissal by the football association.

Following the disappointing match, Belgium’s two largest sports media outlets compiled some fan reactions.

A fan commented, “Tedesco out, what a dramatic game.”

A more rational fan posted, “Castillejos, De Bruyne, Onana were our best players. Why were Witsel and Meunier even here? Carrasco as a left-back? Come on, he didn’t even dare to join the attack.”

The majority of comments were critical of Tedesco, with one fan writing, “Tedesco is terrible, so many talented players, but few with backbone. A disgrace.”

Another fan said, “Goodbye! Tedesco and Vertonghen.”

One more comment read, “Tedesco, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Heynckes is ready to take over your job.”

The last fan was more direct, stating, “I feel sorry for Belgian fans because their national team coach is worthless, with foolish tactics. If I were the FA president, I’d sack Tedesco immediately.”
