June 29 – According to a report from London-based outlet The London Football, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reinforce their midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey rumored to be targeted for a £50 million move.
Spurs are expected to make some changes in central midfield this summer, with players like Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, and Ndombele potentially leaving the club. Manager Cristian Stellini, along with Technical Director John Lange, are keen on bringing fresh faces to add vitality and creativity to the squad.
Lange has been instrumental in pushing for interest in Ramsey, a 23-year-old midfielder who is said to be a favorite of the sporting director. Ramsey has three years remaining on his contract with Aston Villa, and despite an injury-hit season, Tottenham’s interest in the player has not waned, with the North London club reportedly enquiring about his availability again this month.
However, indications suggest that Villa, set to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, won’t let Ramsey go easily. Nevertheless, it’s understood that the Midlands club could be persuaded to part ways with him if a transfer offer in the region of £40-50 million is tabled.
