According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Manchester United has presented Matthijs de Ligt with a contract proposal lasting five years.
Insiders at the English club suggest an agreement could be reached in the near future.
In a 2023 interview with The Athletic, De Ligt referred to Ten Hag as the coach who had the most significant impact on his development. “Even at 18, he saw me as someone who could lead the team, set an example, and become a great captain.” Under Ten Hag’s guidance, De Ligt led his team to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
