On June 26, in the final group D match of the European Championship, France drew 1-1 with Poland. In this game, Griezmann came on as a substitute in the second half, marking his 33rd appearance in major tournaments for France, a milestone that makes him the non-goalkeeper player with the most appearances for the national team.

In the match against Poland, Griezmann did not start but was named on the bench. It wasn’t until the 61st minute that he replaced Kanté to make his entrance. With this appearance, Griezmann surpassed Lilian Thuram’s record of 32 appearances in major tournaments for France. Interestingly, Olivier Giroud also has 32 tournament appearances, tying Thuram for second place in French national team history.

Griezmann first represented France in a major tournament in the 2014 World Cup and has since played in the 2016 UEFA Euro, 2018 FIFA World Cup, 2020 UEFA Euro, 2022 FIFA World Cup, and the 2024 UEFA Euro, helping the team win the 2018 World Cup title and finish as runners-up in the 2016 UEFA Euro and 2022 FIFA World Cup.
