Brazilian top-tier club Botafogo recently announced the signing of former Argentine champion midfielder Thiago Almada, who has agreed to a contract lasting until June 2029. It is reported that he will join Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais in January.

The midfielder, who previously played in Major League Soccer, was part of Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad in Qatar in 2022 and currently serves as captain of the Argentina U23 national team. He will be participating in the Paris Olympics this summer, thus missing out on this year’s Copa América.
