On July 13, Miyazaki Rafre officially announced that their foreign player, Sleroio, was injured and would return home to receive treatment.
The announcement is as follows:
Sleroio was injured on June 29, Saturday, during the 22nd round of the J2 League away match against Mito HollyHock. He will temporarily return to Brazil for surgery and rehabilitation.
Sleroio suffered a rupture of the right anterior cruciate ligament, damage to the right medial collateral ligament, and a tear in the right lateral meniscus. He is expected to be out for eight months, effectively ending his season.
Sleroio is currently 30 years old and has made 11 appearances this season for Miyazaki Rafre, but only three of those were as a starter.
