On July 11, according to reports by Romano, Dutch forward Zirkzee is set to join Manchester United this summer, with both parties agreeing to a contract until 2029.
It’s understood that after fully triggering the transfer add-ons, Zirkzee’s transfer fee will slightly exceed €40 million. Manchester United did not trigger Zirkzee’s release clause. Zirkzee will sign a contract with Manchester United until June 2029, with an option for an additional year.
The 23-year-old Zirkzee, who plays as a forward, made 37 appearances for Serie A side Bologna last season, starting in 33 games, scoring 12 goals and providing 6 assists. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €50 million. Zirkzee came through the ranks of the Dutch youth system, moving to Bayern Munich in 2017, and has since been loaned out to teams like Parma and Anderlecht.
According to multiple media reports, Manchester United will now focus on finalizing the signing of another Dutch player. Dutch central defender De Ligt has already agreed to join Manchester United, and the transfer can be completed once the clubs reach an agreement.
