On July 17th, the Australian Football Federation (FFA) announced that the venue for their World Cup Qualifier against China’s national football team would be Adelaide United’s home ground. Following this, the FFA released an interview with head coach Graham Arnold.
“There are many players in the national team who have come from Adelaide United, and they play crucial roles. For them, playing at Adelaide Oval in front of family and friends will be a very, very special night.”
The FFA then listed current or former Adelaide United players who are part of the national team, including Craig Goodwin, Joe Gauci, Ilija Jovanovic, Stamatopoulos, Strain, Yengi, Paul Izzo, and others.
When discussing the goals for the World Cup Qualifier Round of 18, Graham stated, “Our expectation is to qualify directly and become the group leader. Our goal is not to finish second or third but to win the group championship. As a coach, my expectations are extremely high. When you look at our players individually, we now have some playing in the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A, so we are doing very well, and we will continue to do well.”
The third round match of the third stage of the World Cup Qualifiers between Australia and China will take place on October 10th at 18:00 local time.
The FFA also announced ticket prices for this match, starting at AUD 15 (CNY 73) for children, AUD 20 (CNY 97) for concession tickets, AUD 29 (CNY 142) for adults, and AUD 58 (CNY 284) for family tickets.
