On July 17, the US Open officials announced this year’s main draw qualifiers. Djokovic, Nadal, Sinner, Swiatek, Gauff, and Sabalenka lead the field of competitors. Four-time US Open champion Rafael Nadal has entered the main draw using a protected ranking, marking his return to the US Open stage. Naomi Osaka failed to qualify for the main draw directly by ranking, currently standing sixth in line as a women’s singles alternate.
A total of 11 Chinese players have made it into the main draw. The details are as follows:
Women’s Singles: Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu, Yuan Yue, Zhu Lin, Wang Xiuyu, Wang Yafan, Zhang Shuai, Zheng Saisai, Wang Qiang – the latter three entered the main draw using protected rankings. This will be Zhang Shuai’s last time participating in a Grand Slam event using a protected ranking.
