July 9 – According to the latest report from British media outlet The Sun, newly promoted Premier League side Leicester City are interested in signing Celtic’s midfield star Matt O’Leary as a replacement for their departed midfielder Hall.
Leicester City believes that the 23-year-old O’Leary can fill the void left by Hall in terms of goals and creativity; however, Celtic’s asking price of £50 million has deterred many suitors.
This includes Brighton & Hove Albion, who were originally interested in the player but ultimately decided to sign Feyenoord midfielder Wefel for £30 million.
Last season, O’Leary excelled at Celtic, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists in 37 league appearances, helping his team win the Scottish Premiership title. Last summer, he extended his contract with the club until 2027. Despite his impressive performances this season, he did not represent Denmark at Euro 2024.
