According to reports from Spain’s Marca, a serious fan riot prior to the Copa America final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami led to the match having to be repeatedly delayed. The latest update is that the kickoff will be at 9:15 pm.

A large number of fans without valid tickets attempted to force their way in, causing chaos on site, with several people injured as a result. This incident nearly resulted in disastrous consequences, with multiple fans fainting and emergency medical teams swiftly intervening for treatment.

In an attempt to control the situation, police were forced to close several entrances, which paradoxically exacerbated the disorder. With only minutes remaining before the scheduled start of the game, approximately 30,000 fans had still not been able to enter the stadium smoothly, directly causing the delay of the event.

The cause of this incident was due to a significant number of fans attempting to enter the stadium using counterfeit tickets. It is estimated that these fake tickets accounted for about one-third of the total ticket count. The violent behavior of ticketless fans sparked panic among legitimate fans waiting to enter, forcing organizers to temporarily seal all entrances out of safety concerns. This prevented even those with genuine tickets from taking their seats on time, leading to further dissatisfaction and protests.

The chaos first erupted near the journalists’ entrance to the stadium, where a large crowd of fans ignored security personnel’s attempts to stop them, climbing over barriers to force their way in. Upon entering the venue, they scattered in all directions, even knocking down security staff responsible for the southwest area, causing even greater confusion.

More worryingly, relatives of several players from the Colombian and Argentine national teams were also caught up in the chaos outside the stadium, unable to share this important moment with their loved ones.

Police in Florida quickly moved to restore order on-site and arrested several illegally intruding fans within a short period. To ensure safety, the organizers decided to temporarily close some entrances until the situation was fully under control.
