According to the Korean media outlet Dong-A Ilbo, Park Ji-sung is about to resign from his position as Technical Director of Jeonbuk Hyundai.
Park Ji-sung retired from playing in 2014 and took up the role of advisor at Jeonbuk Hyundai in January 2021. A year and a half later, he officially became the club’s Technical Director.
However, Park Ji-sung’s tenure as Technical Director did not bring about the desired effects for the club. Jeonbuk Hyundai finished second in the league standings behind Ulsan Hyundai in the 2022 season. In the 2023 season, they dropped to fourth place in the K League 1. After 24 rounds of this season, they have only accumulated 23 points and are ranked third from the bottom of the league table.
