Korean Football Association (KFA) Chairman Chung Mong-kyu has recently published his autobiography, which contains no shortage of self-defense and self-praise. Korean media outlet Sportal Korea excerpted some of his remarks and titled them “Embarrassing Self-Promotion.”
In his autobiography, Chung Mong-kyu states, “There are many owners of top clubs, like Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez. If you give these people 100 points, then I can only get 40-50 points. I cannot bring any professional knowledge or vision to running a club.”
Chung Mong-kyu is very satisfied with his management in the K League: “I can say that I am the best owner in the K League. My business friends have enough financial power, which is not easy to achieve.”
Sportal Korea commented on this: In fact, Busan, one of the representative powerhouse teams of the K League, has not been able to lift a major championship trophy since the end of the 2004 season and has been struggling in K2 for four years after being relegated in 2017.
