August 6 – According to UK media The Independent, Chelsea may opt to sign Osimhen on a loan-to-buy arrangement, with the player demanding an annual salary as high as €12 million.
Sources say that Chelsea is still in negotiations with Osimhen over his wage package. This process, complicated by the transfer of another forward, Lukaku, could stretch into the final week of the transfer window. Current indications are that Lukaku will make a permanent move to Napoli, while Osimhen will join Chelsea on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Chelsea has been keen to sell Lukaku, and new Napoli manager Conte sees him as the perfect central striker for his tactical setup. Lukaku’s move is largely agreed upon. Chelsea and Napoli are also close to agreeing on a swap deal involving their respective strikers, though Chelsea may bring in Osimhen via a loan deal with an option to buy.
