On July 31, Barcelona faced off against Manchester City in a friendly match in the United States. The two teams drew 2-2 in regular time, but Barcelona triumphed 4-1 in the penalty shootout. Post-match, Barcelona’s head coach, Flick, praised his players’ performance.
In their first preseason friendly of the summer, Flick was pleased with how the match unfolded: “I’m very satisfied with the team. We worked hard, and most importantly, we defended and attacked as a team.”
“All the players fought for each other, which is the key to winning,” he said.
Flick commended his counterpart Guardiola and his Manchester City side, as well as his two goalkeepers, Ederson and Ortega. However, the Barcelona coach preferred not to single out any individual player, instead emphasizing that the team’s collective performance was paramount.
According to the schedule, Barcelona’s next match will be against Real Madrid on August 4 at 7 PM.
