Korean Media: Kim Pan-Goon, Malaysia's Head Coach, to Hold Press Conference Today to Announce Resignation

July 16 – According to the latest news from South Korean media outlet Best Eleven, Kim Pan-Goon, the head coach of the Malaysian national team, will hold a press conference today to announce his resignation.

The 55-year-old Kim Pan-Goon, a Korean coach with extensive experience, has previously served as the head coach for Busan IPark, Hong Kong South China, and the Hong Kong national team. He became the head coach of Malaysia in February 2022.

Under his leadership, Malaysia participated in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup, ultimately achieving 3 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses in six matches, accumulating 10 points and finishing third in their group, missing out on the top 18 by a single point.
