After concluding a long and highly regarded career, 34-year-old Kroos ended his playing days on a high note, retiring in glory. As a key midfielder for Real Madrid, Kroos’ opinion carries significant weight when it comes to evaluating the younger members of the squad. In the interview, Kroos specifically mentioned young midfielder Yusuf Güler, suggesting that following an impressive European Championship, the Turkish youngster could become a core player for Real Madrid’s future.

Kroos said, “If Güler can stay healthy, his future is limitless. What sets Güler apart from other young players is his eagerness to learn. Ever since he arrived at Real Madrid, he has been learning everything we do before and after training. Such dedication is rare among young players these days.”

Kroos also praised Güler’s excellent ball skills, stating, “Güler really wants to learn and improve his footballing skills. His shooting ability and left foot are incredible. We could sense his talent from his very first training session. Toward the end of last season, he played more games and scored goals consistently. His shooting technique is unbelievable, and you can see his amazing goals at the European Championship—they weren’t just lucky flukes.”

Güler is currently participating in Real Madrid’s preseason tour in the United States. With Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo still on vacation following the Copa America, the Turk will be under close scrutiny by Carlo Ancelotti, potentially presenting the best opportunity for him to establish himself as a regular starter for Real Madrid.
