Sociedad President Reveals Details of Le Normand’s Transfer: Player Requested Departure Three Times, Total Transfer Fee in Millions

Recently, Real Sociedad President Aperribay provided insights into the details of Le Normand’s transfer, revealing that the player requested to leave three times and the total transfer fee was close to 40 million euros.

Regarding the transfer fee for Le Normand to Atlético Madrid, Aperribay did not shy away from disclosing specific figures: “34 million euros plus a variable clause of 5 million euros.”

Le Normand had asked Aperribay three times to let him depart from Real Sociedad, so Aperribay had no choice but to agree. Aperribay said, “Today I met with Le Normand at Anoeta Stadium; he came here to bid us farewell. We reminisced about his time at Real Sociedad, how he arrived here, how he rose to prominence, and his eight years with us.”

“We had hoped that he would stay not long ago, but players choose their destinations. We wanted to avoid discussing his departure, but we believe listening to the players makes us stronger. We did not consider selling Le Normand, but he informed us back in April that he might leave.”

“In May, we were still trying to keep him, despite the fact that the transfer agreement was finalized two Saturdays ago. The last conversation took place just before that. If he had told us he wanted to stay, we would not have reached an agreement with Atlético. His behavior and attitude throughout the period were very positive.”
