According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Everton midfielder Amadou Onana is set to undergo a medical today and is expected to officially sign with Aston Villa tomorrow, completing his transfer.

Romano has revealed that Villa will pay Everton a fixed transfer fee of £50 million for Onana, with additional variables, and the contract includes a resale clause as per Everton’s request.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder, who holds Belgian and Senegalese citizenship, has played for youth teams such as Anderlecht and Hoffenheim and began his professional career at Hamburg in 2020. In the summer of 2022, Onana moved from Lille to Everton and has since made 72 appearances for the Toffees, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

On the international stage, Onana made his debut for the Belgium national team in June 2022 and has since earned 17 caps, starting and playing the full duration of all four matches in this summer’s European Championship in Germany.
