On July 26, Wellington Phoenix officially announced the signing of midfielder Paul Retre.
Retre is currently 31 years old and has previously played for Melbourne City, Sydney FC, and Goa. Retre spent six seasons with Sydney FC, where he helped the team win two A-League regular season championships and two A-League Grand Finals. In July 2023, Retre left the A-League to join Indian Super League side Goa. Last season, Retre made 23 appearances for the team.
