The Netherlands team has officially announced that Tottenham Hotspur defender Van der Veen, who was previously included in the Nations League squad, has withdrawn due to injury and has been replaced by Van Hecke, who plays for Brighton.

24-year-old Van Hecke is receiving his first call-up to the Netherlands national team. Originally, he was on the provisional list but was left out of the final 23-man squad. Van der Veen missed the match between Newcastle and Tottenham due to injury, with the specifics of his condition yet to be determined.

The Netherlands are set to play Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 8th and Germany on September 11th.
